WE COULD HAVE BUILT A PRACTICE AROUND HOW MANY PEOPLE WE COULD SEE.
WE CHOSE TO BUILD ONE AROUND HOW DEEPLY WE COULD KNOW THEM.
THAT CHOICE BECAME AMĀAN.
A PLACE TO RETURN TO YOURSELF
If you’re here, something probably isn’t feeling the way you want it to.
You may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in patterns you don’t fully understand. Maybe life looks fine from the outside, but something inside doesn’t feel right. You may love your partner deeply but keep finding yourselves in the same painful conversations. Or your family may be going through something that has changed the way you relate to one another.
Sometimes people come to therapy knowing exactly what they want help with. Other times, they simply know that something needs to be different.
You don’t have to have all of that figured out before you walk through the door. That’s part of the work we’ll do together.
SERVICES
-
Sometimes the thing that brings you to therapy is easy to name. Other times, you simply know you don’t feel like yourself.
Individual therapy gives us space to understand what you’re experiencing, the patterns and relationships that may be contributing to it, and what you want to feel different. We work with concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, life transitions, identity, and the feeling of being stuck.
-
You can love each other deeply and still struggle to find your way back to one another.
Couples therapy can help when communication has become difficult, conflict keeps repeating, intimacy or connection has changed, trust has been damaged, or you’re facing a decision or transition you don’t know how to navigate together.
The goal isn’t simply to argue less. It’s to understand what keeps happening between you and begin building a relationship that works differently.
-
When something affects one person in a family, it rarely affects only that person.
Family therapy looks at the patterns, relationships, roles, and communication within the family as a whole. Rather than deciding who is “the problem,” we work to understand what everyone has become caught in and how the family can begin relating differently.
-
Some relationships need more than fifty minutes at a time.
Couples intensives create dedicated time to go deeper without having to stop just as you reach the heart of something important. They may be especially helpful when you’re navigating betrayal, a relationship in crisis, longstanding patterns, or work that feels too important or complex to spread across months of weekly sessions.
AMĀAN offers extended and multi-day options depending on what your relationship needs.
-
Premarital therapy isn’t only about preparing for problems. It’s an opportunity to understand the relationship you’re building before you build a life around it.
We explore communication, conflict, expectations, family, finances, intimacy, values, roles, and the patterns each of you brings into the relationship — while also strengthening what already works between you.
-
Immigration cases often involve experiences and relationships that are deeply personal.
We provide comprehensive psychological evaluations for select immigration matters, with time dedicated to understanding your history, experiences, emotional functioning, and the circumstances relevant to your case.
When appropriate and with your permission, we also coordinate with your attorney so the evaluation addresses the questions relevant to your legal matter.
-
Some legal matters require a different kind of psychological service — one focused on answering a specific referral question rather than providing therapy.
AMĀAN accepts select forensic evaluation matters within our areas of training and competence. Each referral is reviewed individually to determine whether we are the appropriate evaluator for the questions being asked.
NOT SURE WHERE YOU FIT?
You don’t need to know which service you need before reaching out. Tell us a little about what brings you here, and we can help determine the most appropriate next step.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with specialized training and experience in relationships, couples therapy, betrayal and affair recovery, trauma, and intensive couples work. My training includes the Gottman Method, Relational Life Therapy, neuropsychotherapy, and intensive couples therapy.
I’m also an AAMFT Approved Supervisor, with experience in clinical leadership, training, and supervision. Beyond therapy, my work includes immigration psychological evaluations and selected forensic evaluations, supported by additional training in forensic mental health assessment and report writing.
There are plenty of letters, certifications, and therapy models I could list here. You don’t need to know what all of them mean.

What matters most is that you can feel the value of that experience in the work we do together.
COUPLES INTENSIVE
A couples intensive gives you and your partner dedicated, uninterrupted time to focus on your relationship over one or more days rather than spreading the work across traditional weekly sessions.
PREMARITAL PROGRAM
Prepare for the marriage, not just the wedding.
There is a lot of planning that goes into getting married. The venue, the guest list, the finances, the families, and a seemingly endless number of decisions.
Our Premarital Program creates dedicated time to focus on what comes after the wedding: the marriage you’re building together.
